Gita: How and what I understood it? (Part-2)

Gita, how and what I understood it.(Part-2)

Karma Yoga and Karma Sanyas Yoga

Karma Yoga:

Now, if we are souls, what are we for in this world? This part is its answer. Karma Yoga explains that we should do our work without expectations, selfishness and affection. When we expect something in the return of our work, isn’t the purity in that work.
Each work is called Karma, but not each Karma is called work. All our work is our Karma, but all those works we do, are for something that we want. We eat food is our work, and it’s Karma too. But we meditate, is not our work. It’s our Karma. Even we breathe is our Karma. Everything we do or we don’t do, is Karma. E.g., we work to get salary. When parents educate their children, they shouldn’t expect anything in return from their children. Why should they? Have they educated them so that they could help them? No. If parents grow their children in well manner, they will always help their parents. Then why to expect anything? People worship gods only to get something from them. Nowadays we do each Karma to get something in return. And that’s our selfish act. Karma must be selfless. The core of expectation is called resolution. Our resolution binds us with those expectations and we know what expectations cause in the end. Karma should be done with pure heart, without thinking about its result. We must keep faith in our work, in our Karma. Because we have only right over our Karma, not over its result. If we have done our Karma with full faith and purity, it will give us results. But we shouldn’t expect it. The souls are bound in bodies to do works in this mortal world. We can’t simply give up everything. We are meant to do our Karma.
Then the question rises, how to know which Karma is right and wrong? If you have followed the Sakhya Yoga properly, the Karma chosen by you would be right, because it was chosen by pure heart. I recall once Balrama asked Krishna, “Why you favor Pandavas when you know that they have also done wrong things and those things ultimately cause this war? How you concluded to favor them?” Then Krishna replied, “I decide my side with purity of my heart. I choose without thinking our mortal bounds and affection. I choose without thinking about hatred and love. I know Arjun is my best friend, and I admit that Arjun is dearest to me. But that is not the reason why I favor them. I see righteousness with them, I see Dharma in Pandavas side. And they need guidance in this battle.” It’s the best way to discriminate what’s wrong and what’s right? And when you can’t decide, you can stay neutral as Balrama did. But you must do your Karma.
The sanyasi people, who have given up their Karmas in daily life, have their own way to reach to supreme soul. There are many ways to reach the supreme soul. Few reach by worshipping, few reach by fasts, few do chanting, and few do their Karma without binding self in those Karmas. They understand what they are doing, are actually their body’s work. This thinking won’t allow any sorrow, anger or affection to reach to your mind and soul as well.
Karma Yoga is better than all the ways described above to reach the supreme soul. Sankhya yoga is also a way to reach the supreme soul in which a person uses the way of knowledge to reach his final destination. But Karma Yoga is said better, because it’s easier, besides, it would give you results and your body can enjoy those luxuries happily. But you should be aware that your mind doesn’t divert.
Arjun was the yogi. Because he did each Karma without expecting the results. He fought the war without expecting the triumph. But faith gives fruits.

Karma Sanyas Yoga:

Now, we know the Karma Yoga and we also know that we can reach at supreme soul through various ways. The best way is Karma Sanyas Yoga. Karma Sanyas Yoga explains that we should dedicate all results of our karma to the supreme soul. It means when you dedicate the results of your Karma to the supreme soul, it would lighten your soul, and your mind wouldn’t divert. Whether the result would be good or bad, whether it would be victory or defeat, just dedicate it to supreme soul. If the result is good, it would give bliss to your soul, and if it’s not, you still feel light and sinless. And you will do another Karma without thinking about the last Karma. This explains how we can come over from the defeat we got.
The Supreme soul accepts everything you offer with pure heart. It’s not necessary that you worship with Yajnas, Kathas and aarti. It’s not necessary you offer sweets. We should only offer ourselves selflessly. And we will see that we wouldn’t choose bad Karma and that wouldn’t cause bad result and eventually, every beings will be happy and prosperous. Why to collect money when you know that it’s mortal? If you are just thinking about your soul, then you don’t need anything more than require to survive your body. That’s why scriptures consider charity as the best act. Because it’s done with pure heart, and without expecting anything in return. The purest Karma.
Karma Sanyas Yoga calms your entire mind and worries about future or the results. Whatever they are, just give them to the supreme soul.
Karma Sanyas Yoga can be properly understood by the knowledge of Sankhya and Karma yoga. When a person accepts Karma Sanyas Yoga completely, he could do his Karma without affection, attraction and other bounds. And decision of Karma in such situation are always right, because a person decides his Karma with sinless pure heart, without hatred and love. And that’s what a man meant to do on this earth.
We are created to work and balance the nature. The nature, who gives us birth in this world, and we must use our body to maintain its dignity. Our souls have all the knowledge. But when our soul is planted as a seed in that body formed by nature, the three qualities of nature binds body with soul, and those qualities hides the true knowledge of soul. When we enlighten ourselves through any medium, we find that our soul knows everything. It’s just our knowledge was hidden beneath the layer of feelings felt by mortal body. We didn’t know what our actual Karma is, and what we meant to do in this world. We work for nature, and that’s our Dharma. When nature wants to eliminate bad people and free their souls from that sinful body, humans must become the medium to do that thing. That’s why Krishna said to Arjun not to fight for revenge or anything. Because they would be just mediums. Nature wanted to free souls of Duryodhana and others. And so, the war was necessary.
